PROMETHEUS Trailer

Currently in post production, PROMETHEUS is due to be released in 2012. Directed by Ridley Scott (the FIRST Alien) with a screenplay by Damon Lindelof (LOST and Star Trek 2009). It stars Charlize Theron, Idris Elba (whom I remember from an Absolutely Fabulous episode), Guy Pierce (yep THAT Guy Pierce from Home and Away and Neighbours!!!), Noomi Rapace from The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, the Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest - all most excellent movies.

Best yet, not only is Ridley Scott directing it, but Dariusz Wolski is the Cinematographer. YIPPIE!!!!! His look is the vision behind ALL the Pirates of the Carribean movies (where he was director of photography), Sweeny Todd, The Mexican, Dark City, The Fan, and The Crow!! As for editing - Pietro Scalia. For me, it's a hit or miss with him. The Good: American Gangster (with Scott), Memoirs of a Geisha, Black Hawk Down (with Scott), Gladiator (with Scott), Good Will Hunting. The Meh: GI Jane (with Scott) and Kick Ass.

Now, the CURRENT synopsis according to the website is this:
Current Official Synopsis

Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life's ultimate mystery.

What we know so far:

Little is known about Prometheus' plotline as it is still very early in the project's development. But what we can share with you is that the film is set in space for the most part. Similar to that of "ALIEN"; the junping off point to this project. The film's name "Prometheus" is that of the space vessel's, used by a crew of select individuals who set off to explore and investigate fragments of "Alien DNA".

The film itself revolves around the Space Jockey creature; as seen in the original film ALIEN (1979). When the team of scientists embark on this journey, they get stranded on an Alien world which tests their limits; both mental and physical.

The Aliens themselves are said to be much larger than the original "Xenomorphs" we are used to. However, their overall construction will be easily noticable to that of the original Alien canon.

More information on Prometheus' plot will be available later on. Check back for updates.
