Squeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! That's what I think of Evile's September 26 release of their third album FIVE SERPENT'S TEETH. If you are a regular reader of The Kali Diaries, you know I LOVE this band! Live they are a blistering ear bleeding mass of metal and on disk they make you drive just a wee bit faster. The album has shades of Slayer, Testament, and Metallica and even a song reminiscent of Flotsam and Jetsam. FIVE SERPENT'S TEETH is a head banging, circle pit extravaganza. Matt and Ol's guitar work is severely intense. Mr. Drake senior makes an appearance to show that the guitar work is indeed inherited. This is the first album with Joel Graham on bass and personally, it's my fave. Joel's work on this album is stellar! "Decent into Madness" has a groovy walking bass harmony at 3:48 that is righteous!!! "In Memoriam" is an ode to Mike Alexander. If this song doesn't bring a tear to your eye, then you aren't human. The disk closes with "Long Live New Flesh". This is a song that the evil DJ in your brain will love! I've been humming and just outright singing it since I got the disk!!!
