Image
Chicago thrashers DIAMOND PLATE have confirmed the addition of MATT ARES to the band as their new vocalist and bassist, following the departure of former frontman JON MACAK. The band have started working on the follow-up to their 2011 debut album, GENERATION WHY?, with the new album due to be released in 2013. DIAMOND PLATE have issued the following statement: (Left to right: Konrad Kupiec, Mario Cianci, Matt Ares, Jim Nicademus) "Over the past few months we have been writing and demoing songs for the next album. During that time, we felt that the chemistry between Jon and the rest of the band wasn't as strong as it needed to be. We decided to move on, and find someone that shared the same passion to create the music that we've always wanted to make. We wish Jon all the best, and we want to thank him for being a part of this band. "We are extremely excited to announce and welcome Matt Ares into the band as vocalist and bassist. Matt has really been a breath of

Browning Part Ways With Rhythm Section

Image
It is with much sadness and a heavy heart that I must report that the Browning are losing two of the finest musicians I've ever had the pleasure of shooting (with my Canon) and hanging with. The rhythm section comprised of Noah Robertson on drums and Jesse Glidewell on bass are departing the Browning says lead singer Jonny McBee. Hey everyone! Just wanted to update you on somethings! Jesse and Noah have both decided to step down both for their own personal reasons. I want to thank both of them for putting work into this with us! This doesn't effect any of our upcoming touring plans and our NEW ALBUM we are in the process of writing :) Stoked for you guys to hear these new songs when its ready, and stoked to see all of you out at some shows! ... Another big tour update coming next week :) Drew will be going back to bass, and our friend Cody is coming out to play drums! See you all soon! ♥ - Jonny Hat's off to Noah and Jesse! Kali Diaries wishes you long life

All Hail The Yeti: new drummer and tour dates

Kicking off just days ago Los Angeles-based stoner/groove metallers ALL HAIL THE YETI is currently embarked on the recently announced Reconcile For Revenge Tour , the first full trek in support of their self-titled debut full-length, released at the end of August worldwide via AFM Records . The outfit is currently raging across the western half of the country, and has just expanded the tour, adding an additional slew of dates to the brutal trek. ALL HAIL THE YETI has also confirmed the recent addition of a new drummer following the recent departure of Skylar Feigel. Frontman Connor Garritty released an official statement on the new band member this week: “ We are very excited to announce that we have recruited a new drummer. Steve White officially joined the band in early October. His enthusiasm and positivity are a refreshing start to this new chapter of the band. He is an outstanding drummer that brings a whole new element to the table that we never had bef

Between the Buried and Me - The Parallax II: Future Sequence

Image
Between the Buried and Me released The Parallax II: Future Sequence on October 9, 2012 via Metal Blade Records . To say this is a concept album is a bit of an understatement. The North Carolina based band released a very heady, sometimes confusing, but always interesting album. Parallax sounds like some groovy 70s Yes inspired album. It's full of guitars and keyboards and harmonies. It's a total throwback with a modern feel. Nothing on Parallax feels dated. The songs showcase the guitar work of Paul Waggoner and Dustie Waring in a truly inspired way. What's totally cool about this album is that the guitars are very Yes, very ELP and it has the vocal harmonies of prog rock but it also has the crazy growly vocals that meander in and out of already complex fusion compositions. Parallax is a musical journey. You feel a bit like Alice though the looking glass. You never know where the album is going to take you. You just intuitively know that the path is going to be
